Throughout the world, 46 million of the lives of our brothers and sisters are taken annually by means of abortion. Many people are rightly alarmed by this fact, and are convinced of an urgent need to address this tragedy and bring it to an end. Anyone who attempts to strategize on an approach to eradicating abortion, has to do so with intelligence, and an awareness of what will be effective. There will always be different opinions, offered in good faith, as to how best to make abortion unthinkable, and to end this scourge in our own day. The Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform (CCBR) has chosen to take an approach which brings to light in a vivid and dramatic way, the truth of abortion. Through the use of graphic visuals, they bring to the public eye, the devastating effects of the abortion procedure on the conceived human in the womb. Their approach is based upon an intelligent and thoughtful study of social movements in history that exposed injustice with imagery. After becoming familiar with their approach, and the rationale behind it, I have become convinced of the rightness of it, and can with confidence give my full support to it. No one likes to see shocking pictures of dead people. However, we do live in a visual culture, and unfortunately for some, if they never see the truth of abortion with their eyes, the cry of the unborn may remain a hidden horror that may never touch their consciences. The tactic of dramatic visuals is not new. God has often had to call his prophets to do dramatic things to wake up His people! God continues to call prophets in our own day. The Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform, I submit, is one of those prophetic voices, speaking the truth in our midst.
