Dear Stephanie,
Peace and joy and a big hug to you in Christ Jesus, my dear little sister, Stephanie Gray. Fr. Taras Kraychuk made me aware of your gallant efforts for the cause of life. He endorses your work. I also endorse your precious work for Christ and His Church.
In 1978, my wife and I were editors of a Catholic Family Magazine in the diocese of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, where I was ordained as a deacon in 1980. We put graphic images of babies in a trash can and other pictures in our magazine, Come-Unity. It offended some people but those who were truly committed to life saw it as “an unspeakable crime.” We called the abortion movement the Holocaust of Abortion. I believe we need prophetic action and this is what you are doing by presenting the horrors of abortion in a graphic way.
We are called by Christ and the Holy Father to go out into the byways and highways and preach the Gospel fearlessly and to trust in Jesus Christ, the Son of God for the rest. (See the address to Youth at Denver World Youth Day.)
Stephanie, I follow St. Francis of Assisi and often wear a red hermit habit in honour of the Sacred Heart, this habit is a prophetic sign of the age of martyrdom we have entered. I live half my life as a hermit and half evangelizing. (My wife died five years ago of cancer.) The red habit represent the blood of aborted babies and martyrs throughout the world. I am wearing the red habit as a sign of reparation for myself, and my fellow clergy who refuse to endorse the Gospel of Life, and especially those clergy who repress, ridicule and oppress people who are standing up for Christ’s little ones, the victims of abortion.
Keep fighting the good fight in proclaiming the Gospel of life.
Be assured of my fraternal love and prayers,
A blessing+
Deacon Daniel Dauvin, follower of St. Francis
